When Texas Wins….
Rose Bowl and told the girls if the weather was nice and IF Texas won, we would go to Disney World. Texas came through, but the weather did not. Fast forward to Sunday when we were watching Texas play in the Baseball College World Series. Texas wins and we clap and cheer. The girls are jumping up and down. Then Oldest asks “Do we get to go to Disney World now?”]]>
Parenting Question
Lately my youngest has been staying up later and when I go to check on her she asks for food. This is after eating a good dinner. I tell her no most of the time, unless she is up really late and starts crying. I am not sure if she is just trying to get out of sleeping, is really hungry, or what else it could be? Have I set a pattern since she knows if she crys she will get something to eat? I just removed the candy jar from out of the dinner table view, since I am suspicious that they both see it and stop their dinners short. Any other suggestions? Anyone else gone through something like this?
Other Texas Sports
Anytime that The University of Texas wins at any sport, I am very happy. I may do not keep up them, but we had to watch the game today for the College World Series. Texas was playing the University of Florida and won. They are now College World Series Champions!

]]>An Amazing Product
We were out of dishwasher detergent, so while at Costco’s I picked up some Electrasol 3 in 1 Tabs. My main reason for getting them was to make it easier for my girls to help me in the kitchen. Liquid and poweder detergents are easy to spill, but this is super easy. Open the package and put it in. Little did I know that it would do a great job of cleaning!!! After two runs my dishes looked like new. My dishwasher was cleaner on the inside. My silverware sparkled! Woo hooo!
About a month ago, I “cheaped” out since the Tabs were not as good a deal at the grocery store. You get what you pay for. My dishes and silverware lost their sparkle. Inside the dishwasher became dingy. Bleh!
But no more! The Tabs are in the house! I will never buy any other dishwasher detergent again! They have a loyal customer! They have a great product!
Now there are new scents and Electrasol is running a special offer. So if you want to try it and get some free, go here.
Keith Urban Fans
There are two musicians that I would love to see in concert. 3 Doors Down and Keith Urban. I like 99% of their music, so I know I would enjoy their concerts. I check periodically to see if they will be coming to Texas. Last week, while searching for an answer, I stumbled upon the message board for Keith Urban fans. I learned that they share concert experiences, including tips on how to get Keith to pull you on stage. If you have a clever enough sign and are close enough, you just might get lucky, like this lady.
Reporter with a Sense of Humor
raided by the Feds. They also went to a business of another council member, James Fantroy. James choose to have his representative speak for him. When the reporter asked her if he had any comment on the raids, she said “No, he has no comments.” He shot back “Do you have any comments about not having any comments?” You could tell that really mad her mad. It made me laugh and the talk show hosts had a hayday with it. ]]>
Thoughts and Prayers Requested
A blog friend of mine has been diagnosed with Endometrail cancer. She is using her great sense of humor to cope, but I know she has a hard road ahead of her. Not only does she have to deal with the cancer and a total hysterectomy, but now she knows for sure she will never have her own child. Oh, my heart aches for her. Please keep her in your thoughts.
And I know that each and everyone of you when you read that I had cancer, you lost your breath for a split second and said something like OMG… or OH NO! I know you did. Because I would have done the same if it was the other way around. – Laurie
Another related post means a new category
So the Dairy Council uses “The Power of Cheese” for marketing. Chics need to apply a version of this for us: “The Power of Boobies!”
Jeremy at American Warmonger gives us details on “The Power of Boobies!” Below is a quote, but you really should read the whole post!
A set of boobies is not just a pair of tits that hang off your chest. To say they come in all shapes and sizes does no justice to these treats of womanhood either. Yes, size and shape are sights to behold; a small perky “Hershey’s Kiss” is just as beautiful as the full, voluptuous “ripe pear”. But as I said, that is just one aspect of the boobie.
