New Header
Action shots of the girl’s jumping into a pool. Can you tell which one does not like to get her head wet? You can see her peeking out of the water on the second shot.

Feeling pretty
I do not like to fuss to much with my appearance and would prefer to make things simpler. But simple does not always make you feel pretty. And most women want to feel pretty at some time. Over the years I have noticed things that help me feel pretty. I like how my hair falls into my face and I have to brush it away. I like wearing long flowing skirts. Prom dresses and my wedding dress also did the trick.
Jewelry is good. Right after you get your haircut and the hair dresser has it all spiffy.
The most recent thing I have done to make myself feel pretty is having artificial nails put on. Usually my nails are short since I tear them off. With the nails on I find myself moving my hands different. My pinkie raises up more and not just when I am drinking out of a tea cup. I even enjoy just looking at them.
What make you gal’s feel pretty?

(PrimoDonna on Jul 27, 2006 6:49 AM) I can think of several things: wearing makeup, having a good-hair day, wearing clothes that make me look slimmer, and having a tan.
(Billie on Jul 27, 2006 8:38 PM) I felt *very* pretty the other day after a haircut and a pedicure . . . it all made me want to do give myself a facial and wear jewelry and makeup (which I don’t wear much of in the summer . . . the heat, you know!). It’s nice feeling like a girl for a change.
I'm Back!!!
I have not done any Top Ten Lists, so here we go…..
The Top Ten Things I liked about my vacation:
10. Not wearing heels.
9. Not wearing makup.
8. Not having to cook.
7. Finding some cool (not old) stuff at an antique shop.
6. Eating my cousin’s “Texas Ranger” cookies. I will post the recipe when I get it.
5. Having time to do nothing.
4. Learning to bead jewelry with my Mom.
3. Swimming with my girls (a bunch).
2. Watching my girls go tubing.
And the number one reason I liked my vacation:
1. Visiting with family!

Hey, that sounds a lot like my holiday too!
Laughing to tears
Taking a break after some housework, I watched this video.
Did you watch it?
Oh My! I was laughing so hard and I think it was even funnier the 2nd and 3rd time….
Thanks to Kris for posting it!

Office Politics
I dip my toes into the water of the Sea of Upper Management and I don’t like the luke warm water. I do not like how the sea is full of fish who have blinders on, are concerned only in their interests and not the companies, and who are just plain stinky.
For personal reasons, to survive this sea I can not swim with the other fish. I must grow or periodically wear these. I don’t see many fish with them and wonder if I will survive if I use them.

Oh, and your system won’t let me post my entire URL . . . it’s says the site is “questionable.” Maybe it’s the quality of the writing? I could have told ‘em that!
(vw bug on Jul 15, 2006 6:26 AM) I’ll let you borrow mine. The guys I worked with swore I had the biggest ones.
O Family, here we come!
Next week we leave my husband to himself while we visit family in Arkansas. It will be a nice vacation, but I don’t know if I will survive without good internet access. I will have my laptop and my work phone has data that I can hook up, but looking at the coverage in Arkansas – yikes!
And maybe it will be a good thing. It will be a true vacation.
Oh ya, light blogging in the next week or so.
Anyone going to be around Beaver Lake the end of next week?

Feet and People
All of my shoes are worn out and I can’t find a pair that I want in my price range. Because my shoes are worn out my feet hurt. And since my feet hurt, I am in a bad mood. Your feet make a difference if how you feel and do.
And then I realized that people at the bottom of the ladder at companies are like feet. You take care of them, then they will make your company run better. If lower ladder people are not happy, it puts the whole company in a bad mood.
Lesson of the day? Take care of your feet and your workers.

(PrimoDonna on Jul 13, 2006 7:42 AM) Boy, when my feet hurt, the rest of me hurts too. I agree with you completely! And not just on the feet part, on the worker part too.
