Sent to me today….

Sent to me today by my friend that we both deem “Girl With Issues”. But I don’t care about the issues part since she likes my blog.

Maybe they used it to cement parts of the toilet that are broken somewhere?

i was thinking… why didn’t someone just trash it? cause for 3 days, it was just put in different positions in a stall. go figure!

Year of the Declutterer

For several years I have known I needed to get rid of clutter, but it never was that important. As the girls get older with friends to visit and my stronger desire to entertain, it is important. And maybe getting a dog. (That is another post.)

So I started before Christmas and I have been working on it slowly. My Anti-MIL has a dumpster and I am taking advantage of it. I have also made several trips to the dump.

It will probably take me until the rest of the year since I have so much stuff collected. I know it is part of my military raising. Your stuff made a house feel like a home. It is a slow process to change your way of thinking.

I am inspired by the Flylady.

FlyLady will help you declutter your house using Hot Spot Fire Drills and the 27-Fling Boogie. If the thought of decluttering your home is overwhelming – don’t worry – Flylady has been there and knows what you are going through! In fact, FlyLady still has her own “dungeon” of clutter that she is working on!

I have read her book and received her emails. She talks about taking baby steps, but for the last 2 years I have been taking centeped steps.

Also inspired by the show Clean House and the idea of attaching emotions to objects. The host, Niecy, also has the no nonsense attitude of the FlyLady. Plus, the show makes me feel better because my house is not as bad at others. It is all relative. More here.

This site has good tips, but some of the poster and commenters are like uber-anti-stuff-like.

Moments of Bliss

It has been awhile since I posted something in the category.

Today my office building has electrical problems and they have shut the building down. Since the office is our main data center, it is down also. So no work today.

For the first time since the girls have been at school we were able to have lunch with them. They were surprised and loved that we brought Sonic. It was a moment of bliss.

Acting Cool….

…..at the car wash. Well, really before we went into the car wash.

On the way to the Grandparents tonight we had a hat to give to Grandpa. We tested it out first. The girls said they were “acting cool!”

Acting Cool

Youngest said “I was doing the alien peace sign.”

Acting Cool

Oldest said “I was doing the Longhorn sign.” (I say she was doing with flair!)

Cause They Could

Today I was visiting our plant location where many employees wait on standby for a job duty. While they are waiting some have a tendency to fall asleep. Others have a tendency to wrap toilet paper around them like a mummy. I have a tendency to think it is funny.

Kinda Goes Along With the Whole Theme Here.

As a refresher from my bio:

Why call my blog Prochein Amy? All of my nicknames or pet names do not really apply to me now and I was sick of them. So I did a search on dictionary.com for amy. I found the entry for Prochein ami. Hey, that’s me! Your next friend. And why does it apply? Honestly, I am way too nice. People who know me, know that if you don’t get along with me and I am unable to get along with you, you don’t get along with anybody!! (Well maybe someone, but not very many.)

\Pro”chein\, a. [F. prochain, fr. L. (assumed) proximanus, fr. proximus.] Next; nearest.
Prochein ami or amy(Law), the next friend. See under Next.
