Still here…
Just busy, busy, busy…. Seems lately when I have a little time to chill, I don’t feel like blogging. I have lots of posts in my head, but no umph. Can I buy some?
Always bigger in Texas…..
The Sunbelt is the fastest growing part of the country because in large part thanks to its lower cost of living – from housing and groceries to taxes. The region has been one of the fastest growing for years now, says Frey and, “growth breeds more growth.” As more people move to an area, there is increasing demand for goods and services, which creates more jobs.
Even within the Metroplex, the cost of living is better in Fort Worth vs. Dallas.
New Blog In Town
Many times I am amazed at things that lead to more. I have a great co-worker who has taking my group to the next level and is dragging me along with her. She has a husband, John, who shares an interest in politics. I have enjoyed talking to both of them during lunch and appreciate their openminded and thought provoking conversations. John even has the ability to explain things in “Disney” terms. Very helpful. Although we mostly agree, there are many times we have agreed to disagree or I ran out of time to convince them I am right.
John and his wife have started a blog named Econotics…
This site will feature political and economic commentary of a humorous, sarcastic, informative, and, occassionally, antagonistic nature. We don’t expect you to agree with everything you read on this site, but hope you can enjoy our lively banter, regardless of your political persuasions!
Check it out and maybe even add them to your blogroll.
Silly, silly, silly!
My Dad is very silly and my girls have learned to deal with it early on. To see a prime example, check out my Mom’s latest post…..

Arrrrrr-Kansas
We are heading to Arkansas to visit my grandparents and aunts. I am looking forward to it, but my husband is going to miss us.
For Bou’s boys (updated)
Bou’s boys pick their Webkinz based on their ability to kill…..
“He picks them based upon their ability to kill… that would be, those at or near the top of the food chain, such as a German Shepherd or a polar bear, or even a platypus, that he has informed me can poison the enemy, makes his cut list, whereas the sweet little kittens and horses don’t. The koala bear made it just for the sheer disgustingness of the fact it feeds its poop to its young.”
I give you my girls’ solution for all the cute fluffy ones – arm them with lego guns. Yep, that is what these mean killing machine webkinz are holding.
Update: I missed a sign the left on the table. “Webkinz Army”
Let me know if this works for you…..
I don’t have an amp and I am not sure I could be loud enough, but maybe you could try this?
Media Bias
When I first started my blog the end of 2003, one of my frequently used categories was “Media Bias”. Over time I stopped posting because there are more sites writing about it on a daily basis. One of my daily reads is NewsBusters.org. Today I read an interesting post that made my mouth drop. But I could say that about every post. You would think by now I would not be surprised, but I am.
How Many Drive While Using Cell Phones?
See this first….
It used to be thought if someone was driving crazy, they were drunk. Now it is “cell phone”. I have been driving from Fort Worth to Dallas for the last 10 years and the last two keep getting worse.
People drive slow in the fast lane, don’t look before getting over, or tailgate. I think there are to many laws, but I would gladly support one banning cell phone usage while driving.
