Because as a woman….

April 17th, 2008 by Prochein Amy | 1 Comment »

So true for me and it brings me to tears.

Because as a woman I know that there are times when no one can tell you that you are beautiful, you have to believe it yourself, because even though I think she’s heavenly we find it in ourselves to tear ourselves down, because the curse of women is that we are never happy with who we seem to be even when we are told how special we really are.

One of the neat features of flickr is the ability to leave notes in specific areas of a picture.  I found this tool very helpful in this post.  Click the pic below to see what I am talking about.

The founder of Soldier’s Angels has been nominated for “America’s Favorite Mom“.  She is getting my vote, how about yours? It is worth your time to read what her son wrote about her.

Sushi Surprise with laughter for dessert.

April 11th, 2008 by Prochein Amy | No Comments »

Bob is right when he comments in my last post.

“Surprises are nice, but probably mean more to you than to the hubby.”

He did not know where I chose to eat and it was a hit.  He loves sushi and luckily the ratings online were right.  Suzhi Zone was good.  Hubby had a sushi variety platter.  I had the sesame chicken, but it was very healthy - grilled, not fried.  The green beans and cabbage were great.  We also shared a side order of sushi named after the Dallas Cowboys.  They are close to the future stadium and are getting prepared.

The comedy was pretty good.  You can tell that “Everyone Loves Raymond” was inspired by Ray’s real life.  Jon Manfrellotti (who played Gianni on the show) opened.  Ray, then Brad.  Brad was very un-PC, cussing, and making fun of people.  He made fun of people in the front row.  A couple from India, he hit on a chick with big boobs, and a fat guy who hunted.  Is that what is supposed to happen?  Oh ya, I forgot about the Mexicans and the black guy in the back row.  Everything that would get you in trouble if you were a politician was said by Brad.  But he picked on everyone, even himself.  I don’t think many people expected him to be so vulgar.  One lady brought her 14 year old son and Brad made fun of that and kept going.

After Brad was done, Ray came back out and they answered questions from the audience.  Most were pleasantly funny, I don’t agree with Brad’s political views on Iraq, and they guy who drank to much and went all mushy was hillarious.  They had him walk to the stage and gave him the mic.  Heeeee-larous.  “You guys make a great team like.. Jerry Jones and ………  I can’t remember his name……. Jerry Jones…….   Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson!  You guys are great.”

The last part was outtakes that they would never show on TV.  Do you remember the episode where Robert is dating a very young girl?  They want to double date with Ray and Debra, but they don’t want to go.  Ray almost gets out of it, but Debra drags him out the door by his ear.  So in the outtakes, she grabs him by “the privates” and pulls him out that way.  I you can see that Raymond was NOT expecting it.

All in all a good night.  Happy Birthday, hubby.

Stupid Commercials

April 9th, 2008 by Prochein Amy | 2 Comments »

I found out about Ray Romano and Brad Garrett coming to a local venue even before they were available to the mass public.  Gotta love email lists for this one.  They are here on my husbands birthday. Perfect gift!  He couldn’t go look and find out what it was.  Perfect surprise.

Until last night.  Stupid marketing people.  Why did you have to show that commercial at the exact time that we were watching TV?  It come on, hubby goes “Hmm.”  Awwww maaaaaan!

But he still doesn’t know where I am taking him to dinner.

Laugh O’ the Day

April 5th, 2008 by Prochein Amy | 1 Comment »

Watch this! (For some reason I can’t embed the video.)  Notice how much fun they are having!

From Rofasix:

Back in the days of the USSR, the Soviet Red Army had an official choir composed of male soldiers and musicians. It still exists. The Red Army Choir performs throughout Russia to this day.

Add to the mix the Finnish rock band called “The Leningrad Cowboys”. Last year, they held a concert in Russia, in which - to the screaming applause of Russkie teen-agers - they got the Red Army Choir to join them on stage for a performance of “Sweet Home Alabama.” In English. You couldn’t make this up.

Thanks for the laugh, Rofa!

With my move to Wordpress, I have gone through several templates without finding what I like.  But I think I have found it now.  I knew I was on the right track when I wanted to make sure everything works.  Other than the links on the top, all is like I want.  Wooo hooo!

Any bets on how long this design will last?
